Program Manager, Alumni Relations and Development Communications

The Churchill School and Center Development Office currently comprises the Director of Development (DOE) and the Program Manager, Annual Giving and Special Events. We are seeking a professional to fulfill the responsibilities of Alumni Relations and Development Communications, as well as coordinate with our team in planning and implementing all fundraising activities within the Development Office.  This position requires high level ability in interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good organization and writing ability. This is an excellent opportunity for a person with 2 or more years of related work experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include but are not limited to the following:

1.  Alumni.  Continue to build upon the alumni relations program through special alumni events and activities and provide regular updates through social media, newsletters, emails and other outlets. Convene meetings of the Alumni Council, schedule and plan events to increase connections between Alumni and the school, and be the point person at Churchill for Alumni.

2.  Publications. Coordinate production of the Annual Report and newsletters, write copy, work with graphic designers as well as use desk-top publishing, and post to the website.

3.  Data Entry/Record Keeping.  Assist in gift posting, acknowledgments and record keeping through the Development database Raiser’s Edge. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is preferred.

4.  Individual Giving. Assist parents, Trustees, alumni, past parents, and other constituents in making gifts. Assist in staffing The Churchill Fund and Benefit Committees and parent volunteers in fundraising efforts.

5.  Mailings. Assist in the preparation and coordination of solicitation materials for campaigns/appeals mailed to all constituencies (trustees, parents, grandparents, alumni and alumni parents, friends, foundations, corporations, and matching gifts). 

6.  Special Events.  Assist in organizing fundraising events, including major donor cultivation events, alumni reunion events, the new parent board dinner, and annual benefit including live and silent auctions.  Assist Benefit Committee members in their efforts. Prepare for Benefit evening check-in and check-out in a fast-paced environment to minimize wait times and maintain integrity of records and payments. Ability to work under pressure is a must.


Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of related experience are required. Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills, knowledge of database applications and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential. We are looking for a team player who is enthusiastic, outgoing, creative, motivated and willing to pitch in wherever and whenever needed. A plus if candidate has a strong proficiency in Publisher, social media communication skills, and the ability and desire to learn new programs and tools.
