Health

Health education enables students to develop the skills and attitudes necessary for health-related problem solving and informed decision-making. In addition, the health education program integrates other subject areas, allowing students to create, apply, and use knowledge in many different situations. The health curriculum was developed based on New York State Standards as well as National Health Education Standards, and covers a variety of areas, including personal and consumer health, mental and emotional health, physical activity, drug and alcohol abuse prevention, nutrition, family health, community and environmental health, injury prevention, and anatomy.
