Get Involved

PA Meetings
There are two general PA Meetings each year, both held in the evening. Come hear what is going on at the school plus see a program of general interest. All parents are expected to attend. There are also monthly PA board meetings usually held in the morning. All parents are welcome to these meetings. Contact us

Class Parents
A great way to get involved is to become a class parent.  At the beginning of every school year, two parents from each class volunteer to serve as class parents, who act as liaisons between the class and the PA.  Duties may also include assisting in the classrooms, arranging parties, accompanying the class on field trips, and telephone networking. Class parents are encouraged to attend monthly PA Executive Board meetings. Contact us to volunteer or for further information.

The Torch

The Torch is the official newsletter of the PA.  It comes out at least three times a year and is distributed to the parents and friends of the Churchill School.  Parents plan, write and edit the publication, as well as take photographs.  Contact us if you are interesting in helping or if you have a subject you would like see covered in a future issue.

The “FUN” Committee
The fun committee develops and organizes fun events for Churchill families in the Elementary School such as Bingo/Card game nights. Volunteers to help on the events and to develop other fun events are welcome. Contact us.

Wrapping Paper Sale Goes Green

As part of our fundraising activities, we run a holiday season wrapping paper sale each fall.  The school receives 50% profit of every item sold or start think of everyone on your gift-giving list this year and purchase items through our fundraising event. We also need volunteers to distribute the materials, promote sales, tally the sales and help distribute the items. Contact us.

Family & Staff Ice Skating Party
The skating party is high octane fun. We rent the entire Wollman Rink in Central Park.  The whole Churchill Community comes to this event.
Volunteers are needed to staff the entry area. Shifts are only about an hour long and this is a great way to meet people in the Churchill Community. Contact us.

Book Fair
The annual Book Fair is an important part of our fundraising activities. The Book Fair is a great opportunity to meet other parents and to interact with the children and teachers. Volunteers commit to two-three hour shifts, during which they may set up and break down the fair, staff the check-out and help children and parents select books. Usually scheduled on the same day as Parent-Teacher Conferences, the Book Fair is a wonderful way to get involved without much time commitment. Contact us.

Churchill Used Clothing Sale

Towards the end of the school year, the PA runs a Churchill Used Clothing Sale where you can buy used Churchill shirts and gym clothes.  Contact us for more information on how to donate your used Churchill logo shirts and gym clothes to the PA and how you can help staff the sale.
