Make a Difference –The Churchill Fund 2014-2015

The Churchill Fund is the most important fundraising activity at Churchill because it is part of the annual budgeted revenues of the School.  Our School’s annual fund campaign, The Churchill Fund is the yearly fundraising effort to raise unrestricted funds in support of the School’s daily operations.  Gifts to the Churchill Fund are 100% tax deductible.

Each year the Development Office and a dedicated group of Churchill Fund committee members actively work to raise funds and gain 100% participation from all of our families.  The goal for the 2014-2015 Churchill Fund is $1.5 million.

The Churchill Fund helps to pay for the many things that make Churchill – Churchill. Our school offers above and beyond what is mandated by NY State. Listed below are just a few of the added value benefits your generosity will bring to students at Churchill:

  • Additional Learning and Math Specialists in Elementary and Middle School
  • A rich state-of-the art Technology Program in every division
  • A rich Science Curriculum in every division and state-of-the-art Labs in Middle and High School
  • Performing  and Fine Arts program from Kindergarten through High School
  • Interscholastic Athletic Teams in Middle and High School
  • Honors Program in the High School

Churchill School Budget – Expenses and Revenues

Salaries and benefits for the faculty and staff make up about 80% of our expenses. Another 9% is spent on educational supplies and the professional development of our faculty. Fully 89% (almost $15,000,000!) of our total budget is for expenses directly related to the education of our students. The balance of expenses includes maintaining the building and servicing the mortgage on the building.

On the revenue side, tuition payments from state-funded and private paying students make up about 81% ($13,500,000) of the revenues Churchill receives. Other revenues include government grants and interest and dividends from investments. However, there is still a significant shortfall of $1.5 million to cover expenses.

The Churchill Fund, with its goal of $1.5 million, is the revenue that balances the School’s budget.

Please give today! No gift is too great or too small, and every gift is deeply appreciated.
