Upcoming Author Visit

On Monday, October 19, 2015, author Eliot Schrefer will be visiting with our Middle School students as part of the Churchill School Library’s Visiting Guest Author and Illustrator Series.

Schrefer is an author of both Adult and Young Adult fiction, and a two-time finalist for the National Book Award in Young People's Literature.

His recently published book Threatened, is about a boy surviving in the jungles of Gabon alongside chimpanzees. As he did in his acclaimed novel Endangered, a finalist for the National Book Award, Schrefer takes us somewhere fiction rarely goes, introducing us to characters we rarely get to meet.

A bit about Schrefer:  After a childhood spent in Illinois, Connecticut, Maryland, and Florida, Schrefer attended Harvard University, where he graduated with High Honors in French and American literature. After a year teaching at a boarding school in Rome, he settled down in New York City, where he writes fiction during the day and tutors for the SATs in the evening.
